Odisha sets up 24x7 control room for Nepal flash flood assistance

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has established a 24x7 Special Control Room in New Delhi to assist Indian nationals affected by severe flash floods in Nepal.
The Odisha government has also set up a 24x7 control room at Odisha Niwas in New Delhi to support residents from Odisha stranded in Nepal.

Impact & Risks

The flash floods have severely impacted the Bhotekoshi region, leading to extensive search and rescue operations. Indian nationals, including pilgrims and workers, are among those affected. The disaster has caused significant displacement and damage to infrastructure in Nepal. Families in India, particularly in Odisha, are anxious about the safety of their loved ones. The situation remains critical as efforts to locate and evacuate stranded individuals continue.
